Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced
Appian BPM Consultant
with a strong background in
Appian BPM development
and
Workflow Design & Automation
within Appian Compass. The ideal candidate will possess over 10 years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in Appian solution delivery, and demonstrated expertise in managing multi-regional teams, driving workflow efficiency, and ensuring high-quality application delivery in complex enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Delivery Management
  • Lead and manage a geographically distributed development team to deliver Appian-based business process management solutions.
  • Drive the delivery of key application initiatives across Appian Compass, ensuring alignment with business goals and technical standards.
  • Coordinate activities across application, infrastructure, and platform teams for seamless solution delivery.
  • Manage service delivery KPIs and SLAs — including system availability, proactive monitoring, and timely incident resolution.
  • Appian BPM Development & Workflow Automation
  • Architect, design, and enhance Appian BPM workflows for business process automation and optimization.
  • Implement scalable, maintainable solutions and ensure adherence to best practices in workflow design, data modeling, and user interface development.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze business requirements and translate them into Appian solutions.
  • SDLC, CI/CD, and Agile Delivery
  • Oversee the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Integrate CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery of Appian applications.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily standups, ensuring effective collaboration across teams.
  • Mentorship & Support
  • Mentor and guide L2/L3 technical teams, providing support on escalated issues and complex technical challenges.
  • Conduct knowledge transfer sessions and ensure effective skill development across the team.
  • UI/UX Enhancement & Optimization
  • Lead UI/UX improvement initiatives for Compass applications, ensuring user-centric design principles and consistent performance.
  • Analyze user feedback and system performance to identify and implement design optimizations.
  • Client Engagement
  • Serve as a primary technical liaison between client stakeholders and delivery teams.
  • Provide regular status updates, risk assessments, and improvement recommendations to client leadership.
  • Represent the delivery team during technical reviews and governance meetings.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Experience:
    Minimum 10 years of IT experience, with at least 5 years in Appian BPM development and delivery.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Appian BPM, Appian Compass workflows, Appian SAIL, business rules, interfaces, and integrations.
  • SDLC management, CI/CD implementation, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Leadership & Communication:
  • Proven ability to lead and coordinate distributed teams across different time zones and geographies.
  • Strong client-facing communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Performance & Quality Management:
  • Hands-on experience with system performance optimization, hyper-care support, and quality assurance in production environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Appian Certified Senior Developer or Lead Designer certification.
  • Experience in enterprise-scale workflow automation and digital process transformation projects.
  • Exposure to cloud-based Appian deployments (AWS/Azure).
