What you can expect to do here:

• Work with mechanical and electrical manager to establish and grow a team of electrical engineers in the GTA.
• Lead a team, ensuring effective collaboration and resource allocation.
• Conduct regular team meetings and foster a positive team environment.
• Work with managers and business development leaders to pursue work in Ontario primarily focusing on GTA.
• Design electrical systems for various building types across Ontario.
• Manage project assignments from proposal to construction, including power distribution, lighting, and security systems.
• Collaborate with a design team to develop electrical designs and prepare project drawings and specifications.
• Communicate with clients, design partners, authorities, and contractors.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant codes and standards.
• Adhere to project budgets and timelines, maintaining accurate project tracking and billing.
• Review existing systems and prepare condition reports and feasibility studies.
• Prepare load calculations and select systems and equipment.
• Coordinate project drawings using CAD and BIM software.
• Participate in fee proposals and business development activities.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced staff.

What you'll bring to WSP:

• Licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario (P. Eng.).
• The drive and passion to build and lead a team.
• 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering consulting for buildings and infrastructure.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to lead a team to deliver design submissions, often with demanding timelines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD, Proficiency with AGI or ETAP is considered an asset.
• Ability to deliver comprehensive design submissions, often with demanding timelines.
• Experience in creating tender document packages with drawings and specifications.
• Experience with site reviews of building electrical systems.
• An extensive understanding of building construction and building electrical systems and infrastructure.
• A detailed working knowledge of Canadian Electrical Code, Ontario Building Code and the National Building Code of Canada.
