Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Preparer to join our financial services team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate tax returns for individuals and small businesses, ensuring compliance with current tax laws and regulations. Duties

  • Prepare Basic and Complicated (T1's, T2's, HST) Returns for clients, including individuals, partnerships, and small corporations.
  • Review financial documents such as income statements, balance sheets, and expense reports to gather necessary data.
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Taxcycle, and other bookkeeping tools to compile financial information.
  • Conduct analysis of financial data to identify potential deductions and credits that maximize client benefits.
  • Perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial records.
  • Assist clients with tax planning strategies and provide advice on financial matters related to taxation.
  • Stay updated on current tax laws, regulations, and changes affecting individual and business filings.
  • Support auditing processes by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive client information at all times.
  • Greet and Dismiss clients, accept payment and answer telephone.

Skills

  • Proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks, Taxcycle, and other bookkeeping tools.
  • Strong analysis skills to interpret complex financial data accurately.
  • Experience with auditing procedures and compliance standards.
  • Knowledge of financial services including accounts payable, payroll, investment management, and budgeting.
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure precise tax preparation and reporting.
  • Ability to perform account reconciliation efficiently.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple client files simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills for explaining tax strategies and financial advice clearly to clients. This position is ideal for candidates passionate about finance and taxation who thrive in a professional setting that values accuracy, analytical thinking, and continuous learning.
