LeverageTek is actively seeking a Data Engineer (Python and Pyspark) for a 4-month contract with its Ottawa-based customer.

Work Location

Toronto or Ottawa

Key Tasks

  • Develop and optimize Python and PySpark code used for data quality indicators and reporting.
  • Convert pseudo code or existing SAS programs into efficient and scalable Python/PySpark solutions.
  • Automate and streamline existing data processing workflows to improve operational efficiency.
  • Support the development of automated data quality checks and validation reports.
  • Collaborate with analysts and developers to ensure consistency, data integrity, and proper version control using GitLab.

Key Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with Python and PySpark for data engineering and automation.
  • Advanced expertise in SAS Programming and SAS Macros for data processing and analytics.
  • Proven ability to implement data quality and data preparation solutions in complex data environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
  • Experience using GitLab for source control and collaboration.
  • Knowledge of Amazon Redshift or similar cloud data warehouse solutions considered an asset.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Assets

  • Experience in the healthcare or public sector data environment.
  • Familiarity with data structures, indicators, or reporting processes.
  • Exposure to large-scale data processing and automation initiatives.
