As we continue to expand our municipal and commercial footprint, we are seeking an experienced Demolition Estimator to support increased bid volume and help strengthen our estimating function. This is a 6-month contract role with strong potential to transition to full-time based on performance and business growth.

The Role

The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and timely estimates for:

• Full building demolitions
• Interior strip-outs
• Excavation and site preparation
• Residential, commercial, and municipal projects

This role requires someone who understands Ontario demolition pricing, can work independently, and delivers fast, professional turnaround times without sacrificing accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for demolition, interior strip, and excavation projects
• Review drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, and tender documents
• Perform site visits when required to assess scope, access, logistics, and risk
• Quantify materials, labor, equipment, trucking, disposal, and environmental considerations
• Identify project risks and pricing contingencies appropriately
• Work closely with ownership and operations to ensure constructability and accuracy
• Support municipal RFT/RFP submissions and private bid packages
• Maintain organized estimate files and documentation
• Meet tight deadlines with consistent, professional turnaround

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on estimating experience in Ontario demolition
• Proven experience with:
• Residential demolition
• Commercial demolition
• Municipal / public sector projects
• Strong understanding of:
• Interior strip-outs
• Excavation and shoring considerations
• Ontario disposal regulations and tipping fees
• Ability to conduct site visits and assess real-world conditions
• Experience pricing projects independently from start to finish
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent time management and ability to handle multiple bids simultaneously

Preferred Skills & Assets

• Experience with municipal procurement processes (RFTs, RFPs, RFQs)
• Knowledge of environmental abatement considerations (asbestos, lead, etc.)
• Familiarity with Ontario construction standards and safety requirements
• Strong communication skills with internal teams and external stakeholders
• Proficiency with estimating software and Excel (or similar tools)
