Sr. Partner Solutions Architect

Toronto, Ontario, Canada Amazon Web Services (AWS) Full time $120,000 - $180,000 per year

Description
This position is part of the AWS Specialist and Partner Organization (ASP). Specialists own the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for their respective technology domains, providing the business and technical expertise to help our customers succeed. Partner teams own the strategy, recruiting, development, and growth of our key technology and consulting partners. Together they provide our customers with the expertise and scale needed to build innovative solutions for their most complex challenges.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for experienced and motivated technologists who possess a unique balance of technical depth and strong interpersonal skills. As a Partner Solutions Architect, you will work with some of the world's largest financial services technology companies, the APN and several other AWS teams to craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient joint partner solutions that address customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of AWS services.

In collaboration with sales, you will drive revenue growth across a small set of global financial services customers. As a trusted customer advocate, the solutions architect will help organizations understand best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions, and how to migrate existing workloads to the cloud. You will have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build mindshare and broad use of AWS within enterprise customers.

You must be self-motivated with a proven track record in software/technology sales or consulting. The ability to connect technology with measurable business value is critical to a solutions architect. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges.

We are looking for people that have a strong understanding of large-scale computing solutions. You will have past experience working as a systems engineer/architect. You will enjoy keeping your existing technical skills honed and developing new ones, so you can make strong contributions to deep architecture discussions. You will regularly take part in deep-dive education and design exercises to create world-class joint solutions built on AWS.

Up to 30% travel is required.

Key job responsibilities

  • You will dive deeply into technical details (e.g. design choices, best practices, use cases) with customer and partner teams
  • Bring deep Financial Services domain knowledge
  • Be able to influence executive-level stakeholders
  • Be a key contributor to constructive technical solutions discussions
  • You will help partners identify both the opportunities and risks with their technical decisions
  • You will take part in the creation and sharing of best practices, technical content and new reference architectures (e.g. white papers, code samples, blog posts) and evangelize and educate about AWS technology (e.g. through workshops, user groups, meetups, public speaking, online videos or conferences).
