Program Facilitator

SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Program Facilitator to join our team in a full-time capacity. The ideal candidate will lead and coordinate various community programs, fostering engagement and positive outcomes. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The Program Facilitator will play a vital role in developing innovative programs, managing volunteers, and ensuring the successful delivery of services aligned with organizational goals.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver programming that is based on anti-bullying and crime prevention through a cultural lens.
- Foster appreciation of youth identity through knowledge and pride of who they are.
- Provide comprehensive, culturally appropriate, and person-centered services and programs for youth.
- Inspire and promote the development of a community of healthy, resilient, and empowered young people.
- Ensure appropriate material, equipment and staffing are provided based on the event.
- Provide a monthly schedule with planned events to programs and include a list of materials needed.
- Identify youth's individualized goals and document progress towards their goals.
- Monitor and upkeep supply of resources to ensure adequate instructional resources are available.
- Attend and participate in professional development activities such as workshops, seminars, and in-service training to further education, skills, and training.
- Provide On-Call support (including weekends and holidays) on a pre-scheduled rotational basis.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
The Program Facilitator is under the day-to-day Supervision of the Manager of Healing and Wellness Initiatives with further accountability to the Director of Treatment Services for overall performance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Extensive knowledge of the youth criminal justice system is essential.
- Strong knowledge and awareness of First Nation's culture and history, with particular emphasis on family violence, child welfare, the impacts of trauma, intergenerational trauma, First Nations youth engagement and community outreach.
- Ability to speak a NAN language is an asset.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Must possess a valid Ontario Driver's License and be willing to travel if required.
- Must provide a clear criminal reference check (PVSC), which includes screening for vulnerable sector.
- Must have a flexible schedule and be available to work evenings and weekends.
- Post-secondary education in Indigenous studies, social work, health studies, child and youth work, or combination of education and work experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of work experience within a First Nations organization or community.
- Skills and experience in presenting workshops and facilitating groups.
- Experience working with First Nations children, youth and families is essential.
- Experience in program planning, design, development, and implementation.
