About the Client

Yorktown Search Partners has been exclusively retained to recruit a CFLPA-certified agent on behalf of our client, an elite legal-first global sports agency integrating athlete representation with world-class legal, branding, and cross-border tax infrastructure.

This confidential search is focused on expanding its CFL division to anchor representation for elite football talent across Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Athlete Recruitment & Management:

    Identify, recruit, and sign CFL draft prospects and active players.

    Develop personalized career plans and transition strategies (CFL/NFL crossover).

  • Contract Negotiation & Compliance:

    Negotiate player contracts, incentives, and bonuses with CFL teams.

    Partner with the in-house legal team for drafting, arbitration, and dispute resolution.

  • Endorsements & Brand Deals:

    Secure sponsorships at the local, regional, and national level.

    Work with branding/media partners to elevate athlete visibility (NIL, social, press).

  • Scouting & Pipeline Development:

    Build relationships with U SPORTS (CIS), NCAA programs, and CFL front offices.

    Monitor free agency and trade opportunities.

  • Cross-Border Advisory:

    Assist athletes seeking NFL opportunities through the U.S. legal and agent networks.

Qualifications

  • CFLPA Agent Certification (Required).

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience representing CFL or pro football athletes.

  • Proven success in CFL contract negotiation or sponsorship deals.

  • Strong relationships with CFL team execs, coaches, and college programs.

  • Knowledge of CFL/NFL contracts, union frameworks, and salary cap rules.
