Ready to take the lead in strategic procurement?
Carlson Construction Group is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join our team in North Vancouver. In this role, you'll play a key part in delivering transformative civil and infrastructure projects while working in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment that values innovation and operational excellence.

About the Role

Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will:

  • Lead sourcing initiatives across direct and indirect categories
  • Drive value creation, risk mitigation, and timely project delivery
  • Shape procurement strategies and strengthen vendor relationships
  • Champion continuous improvement across the organization
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage end-to-end procurement of goods and services across multiple business units
  • Lead competitive bidding, contract negotiations, and vendor performance evaluations
  • Build strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Conduct vendor site visits to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborate with project teams to anticipate and meet procurement needs
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on e-procurement systems and best practices
  • Mentor and train team members to promote procurement excellence
  • Support logistics coordination for timely and cost-effective delivery
What You Bring
  • 5–10 years of experience in centralized procurement, ideally in civil construction or infrastructure
  • Expertise in category management, contract negotiation, and vendor development
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Tier 1 ERP/CRM systems
  • PMAC, SCMA, or equivalent certification (or currently pursuing)
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • A proactive, collaborative, and detail-oriented approach
