What you will do:

  • Perform machine start up process as scheduled.
  • Verify all water circuits before start-up process is completed
  • Ensure all processes are running with the correct pre-existing process parameters.
  • Follow and document process parameters to ensure repeatable results
  • Notify shift Supervisors once the start-ups are complete and the process is running.
  • Coordinate with various departments to identify and fix root causes of quality problems.
  • Troubleshoot molding process and make adjustments to ensure quality and production efficiency.
  • Process molding parameters to achieve quality parts and optimize cycle times
  • Address unacceptable production reject levels by troubleshooting process parameters
  • Respond to machine alarms in a timely manner
  • Ensure the machine and work area is clean and organized before production is started
  • Communicate issues, concerns, needs and important information to the shift Supervisor.
  • Use troubleshooting skills to improve and develop repeatable molding processes
  • Provide ideas to improve efficiency
  • Assist the shift supervisor as required.
  • Train process technician trainees as required.
  • Other duties as required

The right candidate will have/be:

Education: Post-Secondary education or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience of processing injection molding machines in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders.
  • Must understand injection molding machine functions.
  • Must understand the fundamentals of the injection molding process.
  • Injection molding troubleshooting experience
  • Capable of lifting up to 50lbs repeatedly
  • Self-starter and able to work in an extremely fast paced environment.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and take directions.
  • Able to work under time constraints, prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Knowledge of plastic raw materials and their processing characteristics.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Forklift Certification
  • Overhead Crane Certification
