Our growing CPA firm in Langley, BC is looking for a full time Senior Accountant. Our firm offers accounting, tax, and consulting services for Canadian businesses and individuals.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional who excels in a collaborative team environment, demonstrates strong technical proficiency, and communicates effectively with clients and colleagues. You will be responsible for managing client engagements, overseeing bookkeeping and compilation work, and assisting in the planning and execution of review, audit, tax, and consulting assignments across diverse industries, including publicly listed entities. This role offers the opportunity to mentor junior staff and contribute to the continued growth of our firm.
Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional client service by providing high-quality, timely and responsive support.
- Prepare compilation engagements and related financial information.
- Prepare corporate and individual income tax returns, including related compliance filings.
- Assist Managers and Partners with review and audit engagements.
- Support the implementation of tax planning strategies for corporate and individual clients.
- Assist with managing CRA audits and correspondence.
- Review monthly bookkeeping engagements for accuracy and completeness.
- Leverage accounting and tax software to improve efficiency and accuracy in workflow.
What you bring to the role:
- Successful completion of the CFE and/or actively pursuing a CPA designation.
- 3-5 years post graduate experience with a public accounting firm.
- Strong project management, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Experience with IFRS, ASPE and/or ASNPO.
- Skilled in managing multiple projects while meeting deadlines and budget requirements.
- Strong client service skills with an aptitude for understanding clients' businesses.
- Committed to delivering high standards of professionalism and client service.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant Canadian assurance and tax experience in a public practice firm, including work with owner-managed businesses.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong client service orientation.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities during peak periods while contributing as a reliable team player.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience training and collaborating with remote staff.
- High level of computer proficiency, including hands-on experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and accounting/tax software such as CaseWare, Jazzit, Profile, and QuickBooks.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
