Senior Accountant - Audit (Langley, BC) Compensation: Starting from $70,000/yearLocation: Downtown Vancouver Smythe LLP is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Audit Group in our Langley, BC office. This role is ideal for a recently designated CPA who is eager to build technical expertise, strengthen client relationships, and take the next step in their assurance career. As a Senior Accountant, you will work closely with Managers and Partners on assurance and advisory engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients while supporting the growth and development of junior team members. The Opportunity As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in executing audits and reviews, guiding junior staff, and contributing to a collaborative, high-performance culture. You will gain hands‑on experience working with clients across multiple industries, enhancing both your technical expertise and leadership skills. This role is a strong stepping stone toward a future Manager position. Key Responsibilities Execute audit, review, and compilation engagements for private and public clients. Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with IFRS and ASPE. Identify accounting, auditing, and tax issues and propose practical solutions. Work directly with Managers and Partners to deliver client-ready work. Supervise, coach, and review the work of junior team members. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients and colleagues. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the audit team. What You Bring CPA designation with 2-4 years of public practice experience in audit. Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, ASPE, and Canadian assurance standards. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively. A proactive, growth‑oriented mindset with a commitment to professional development.
