McCarthy's Roofing Limited
McCarthy's Roofing is a trusted name in commercial and residential roofing, known for quality workmanship, safety, and service. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Corporate Accountant to join our accounting team.
Position Overview
Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this role is well suited for someone who is organized, analytical, and motivated to support the continued growth of the business. If you enjoy turning accurate financial data into meaningful insight and value strong financial controls, this role offers the opportunity to make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Perform daily bank reconciliations and prepare related journal entries.
- Support the in-house AP process to ensure timely and accurate processing of transactions.
- Review and post credit card, fuel, and other third-party statements.
- Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support the monthly close process and internal reporting.
- Support payroll processing, including review, reconciliation, and posting.
- Assist with government remittances (HST, payroll, etc.).
- Maintain organized working papers for audits and internal controls.
- Provide accounting and system support to non-accounting staff as needed, helping resolve coding, documentation, and process questions.
- Support the Controller with special projects and ad hoc reporting as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of relevant accounting experience; Co-Op work experience is an asset.
- Interest in pursuing or enrollment in the CPA program or a recently obtained CPA designation is an asset, but not required.
- Experience with Sage Intacct and Sage Construction Management is an asset, but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft 365 suite of applications.
