Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part Time Weekend Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, providing a safe and nurturing environment for pets. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of our facility, ensuring that all animals receive the highest level of care and attention. This is a role where you will be required to work independently, and provide weekend animal care both in the morning and the evening.

An ideal candidate is someone who is currently working a part time position and would like a secondary job, or a candidate looking to start an exciting career in animal care and training.

SPLIT SHIFTS WILL BE A REQUIREMENT OF THIS POSITION. You will be required to work two shifts daily on both Saturday and Sunday.

Duties

  • Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
  • Maintain cleanliness in kennels and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment.
  • Monitor the health and behavior of animals and report any concerns to the management team.
  • Assist with customer service by greeting pet owners and addressing their inquiries.
  • Administer medications as directed by veterinary staff.
  • Perform heavy lifting tasks as required, including moving animals or supplies.
  • Ensure all safety protocols are followed to protect both animals and staff.
  • This is a fast paced position, where you are required to work independently. Most of the work is conducted outside.

  • Good time management and ability to follow protocol
  • Can work independently
  • Willingness to communicate efficiently with the team
  • Previous experience in animal care or customer service is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks comfortably and safely.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with pet owners and team members.
  • A genuine love for animals and commitment to their well-being.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic.
