OPPORTUNITY
As NPW continues to grow and achieve new milestones, we are seeking a full-time professional with prior accounting experience in the securities industry. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting our finance team by handling a variety of financial tasks, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and enhancing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our financial operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage day-to-day accounting activities to ensure compliance with CIRO, internal policies, and financial reporting requirements.
- Review, prepare, and post monthly journal entries, including working with other teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of accruals.
- Complete the weekly RAC calculations and ensure they are reviewed by the UDP (Ultimate Designated Person) on a timely basis.
- Perform monthly general ledger closing and prepare for internal and external reporting.
- Prepare monthly actual vs. budget analyses and explain trends/variances.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations with supporting schedules.
- Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly account reconciliations.
- Assist with the enhancement of the accounting software system.
- Assist in implementing accounting policies and procedures.
- Drive process improvement and system implementation efforts to streamline operations and improve the quality of the close process and internal control.
- Assist with the bi-weekly payroll process.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
- 3-4 years of experience working in Accounting.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts.
- Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office Suite skills(Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and recordkeeping.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Basic analytical skills to assist with financial analysis tasks.
- Discretion in handling confidential financial information.
- CPA designation

- Expertise in securities industry accounting.
- QuickBooks Online Software knowledge.
- Fluently bilingual- English/French.
