Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated ITALIAN SPEAKING Home Support Workers or Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to provide high-quality care in the North York area. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Ideal candidates will have experience in assisted living, home care, or nursing home environments, and possess a genuine desire to support individuals with diverse needs, including seniors, those with disabilities, or individuals requiring hospice or dementia care. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through personalized caregiving.

Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Provide medication administration as prescribed and monitor for any adverse reactions
  • Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding if necessary
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and maintaining a safe environment
  • Support clients with mobility and transfer techniques using proper body mechanics and equipment
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
  • Document care provided accurately and communicate effectively with healthcare teams
  • Assist with specialized care for clients with dementia or other cognitive impairments
  • Support clients during medical appointments or outings as needed

Skills

  • Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care settings preferred
  • Knowledge of patient care procedures and caregiving best practices
  • Ability to work effectively with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring hospice or dementia care
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate and patient demeanor
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for transfers or mobility assistance
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with healthcare professionals and family members
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing care needs and schedules

Job Types: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $21.00-$24.00 per hour
