Role description:
Our Structural Team seeks a Senior or Intermediate Marine Structural Engineer to join our growing Toronto West office.
The successful candidate will develop and manage projects for new or modified marine infrastructure, transportation, water/wastewater, commercial, industrial, power, and institutional buildings/structures, ensuring code conformance. They will perform responsible, professional-level foundation, structural, and seismic analysis, building, and structural inspections. Project scope ranges from minor renovations to major projects.
Strong technical skills are important, but this Team is looking to add an engineering professional who can build cohesive teams that embrace a range of skills and areas of expertise, working with Engineers and BIM Modelers in Toronto-West and other Arcadis offices globally, coordinating with other disciplines in-house and around the world.
Role accountabilities:
- Lead structural engineering design and analysis for marine infrastructure such as deep foundations, piers, harbour walls, bulkheads, retaining walls, and cofferdams
- Develop reports, drawings, and specifications, as well as carry out seismic analysis, seismic design, and seismic performance assessment
- Develop strong professional relationships with internal Teams as well as external Teams and stakeholders. It would be great if you can mentior and coach junior staff team members
- Coordinate and provide direction to multi-disciplinary teams and other design disciplines like: Architecture, Electrical, Mechanical, BIM, etc.
- Attend meetings and prepare presentations when required
- Prepare bid documentation for project pursuit, as well as review and respond to related project documents like: RFIs, shop drawings, etc.
- Conduct periodic site reviews to ensure construction complies with design intent and codes
- Perform QA/QC activities
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 7 or more years of relevant experience in marine structural design
- Registered P. Eng. A bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, a Master's degree in Structural Engineering (an asset to have)
- Knowledge and understanding of Canadian design standards and codes. Knowledge of USA codes and standards is an asset
- Strong project management and coordination skills, with a strong ability to lead the structural design of projects
- Related project experience working with, and or leading, multi-disciplinary teams in a collaborative and cohesive environment, with all levels of skills and experience
- Strong technical skills related to software: ETABS, SAFE, Robot, SAP2000, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office are expected. Knowledge of 3D BIM is an asset, such as REVIT and Navisworks
- Effective communication skills, verbal and written

The salary range for this position is $100,000 to $125,000. The base salary represents Arcadis' hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualifications for the role.
