Maintenance Technician in Glass Department

We are currently looking for a dedicated and highly organized Glass Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate must be able to multi-task and work well under pressure in a busy environment.

What does a Maintenance Technician do?

  • Responsible for all mechanical and electrical maintenance and have a good understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Perform all preventative maintenance tasks on equipment to ensure proficient operation of same.
  • Follow up on all Glass equipment repairs with proper documentation.
  • Responsible for ensuring all additional parts are in stock and document all parts taken from inventory.
  • Log, record and file all maintenance repair records.
  • Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Plant Manager or designate.
  • Must be able to climb ladders to a height of up to twenty-eight feet and use the acceptable safety equipment.
  • Understand and institute all aspects of the 'lockout' procedures as required by law.

What you bring to the table

  • Qualified Millwright or five years on the job equivalency as an acting Millwright.
  • Able to read and understand blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • Qualified and or certified for electrical, mechanical, electronic, and metal fabrication or report them to the Plant Manager or designate if deemed beyond this position's skill level.
  • Industrial Maintenance Mechanic certification or equivalent to five years of work experience.
  • Must have a valid class G driver's license.
  • Must comply with the Company's Health and Safety Procedures and the provisions and regulations in the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act.

Salary information: Salary is dependent on experience.

Previous experience is required, but we are open to individuals with previous transferable skills such as:
