Qualifications

Summary:

Reporting to the Site Manager or Lead Technician, the Tech I provides the organization with a knowledgeable, multi-skilled, troubleshooting person who maintains and operates the wind power plant.

Responsibilities/Duties:

  • The Tech I will be a team player performing operations and maintenance tasks to achieve safe, cost-effective operation of the facility with supervision.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and control systems.
  • Operate the facility during start-up, shutdown, normal, and emergency conditions in accordance with operating procedures and instructions to maintain a safe and efficient operation.
  • Review and contribute to developing operating procedures for turbine operations and maintenance, safety, and ISO Compliance.
  • Work within and ensure strict adherence to all safety and environmental procedures required by regulation, customer requirements and industry best practices.
  • This position will require mandatory travel. Travel will be scheduled ahead of time, but there may be times when emergency travel is required.
  • This position will require mandatory On Call duties per turbine operation demands and scheduled by management.
  • Complete required paperwork and reports as assigned by the site manager.
  • Assist other departments with an investigation or field testing as assigned by the site manager.
  • Communicate with the Goldwind ROC on turbine related activities to ensure proper tracking and safety.
  • Assist in maintaining proper inventory and all warehouse activities.
  • Perform/direct housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean safe work environment and professional appearance of the turbines and office facilities.
  • Promote and enforce safety culture across the range of Goldwind's employees, contractors, and subcontractors to maintain the highest quality, health, safety and environmental performance.
  • Promote and continue to improve Goldwind's ISO program to ensure continued certification.
  • Follow Goldwind's (or applicable) QHSE policies, procedures, and guidelines of the project safety plan, including safety statistics, accident reporting and investigation, etc. to maintain proper operation.
  • Understand and implement QHSE management systems as they relate to their role.
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications/Core Competencies/Skills:

  • High School Diploma or CAEC (GED) required.
  • A positive, proactive, and professional communication style.
  • Must be a team player.
  • This position requires a highly flexible individual capable of becoming multi-skilled and working in a team environment performing various team support functions.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather and at heights, and climb ladders without assistance greater than 130 meters.
  • Ability to move and manipulate up to 45 kg (100 pounds).
  • Computer proficient.
  • Work experience in the wind energy industry is preferred.
  • Experience in mechanical maintenance, electrical maintenance, or instrumentation and controls is desirable.
