What is the opportunity?
The primary role of the incumbent is to support the team who executes control assessment activities, which evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of key controls in line with RBC's Internal Control Policy and Standard. The incumbent will support risk management practices and control assessment programs. The incumbent works closely with and reports to the Sr. Manager, Enterprise Control Testing. The incumbent is expected to be a key liaison, working closely in partnership between business partners, and managing stakeholder engagement.
What will you do?
Contribute to ad-hoc assignments/special process improvement projects to enhance maturity of the program/increase efficiencies etc.
Participate in regular discussions with Management on strategies, work plans and other matters.
Assist with development and maintenance of tools utilized to execute and memorialize risk assessments and control testing.
Supports strategic activities to help us deliver on key regulatory commitments for control Monitoring and Testing coverage.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on business, data science, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or machine learning
Leadership acumen and a passion to apply it in a dynamic business environment
Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written)
Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast paced environment
Experience working on projects and thriving in ambiguity
Ability to grasp information quickly with a high attention to detail

Please note: This posting is for a 4-months Summer 2026 Student placement with a start date of May 2026, and end date of August 2026. In order to be eligible for this 4-months Student position, you must either:
- Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of August 2026 ; or
- If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in August 2026), you must require the full 4-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
