We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Workers to provide essential care and assistance to individuals with disabilities. This role involves supporting clients in their daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being. Responsibilities

  • Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Provide medication administration as prescribed by healthcare professionals
  • Support clients with meal preparation and feeding needs, ensuring nutritional requirements are met
  • Help with light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and maintaining a safe environment
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to individuals with disabilities or chronic conditions
  • Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary, using proper techniques to ensure safety
  • Support clients with specialized needs such as dementia care or hospice care, following individualized care plans
  • Document care activities accurately and communicate effectively with healthcare teams and family members
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations to maintain a safe environment for clients and staff

Skills

  • Experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care settings preferred
  • Knowledge of patient care, caregiving, and medication administration
  • Familiarity with working with people with disabilities, dementia care, or hospice care is highly desirable
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility support
  • Strong communication skills and compassionate demeanor
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Basic cleaning skills to maintain hygiene standards in client environments
  • Flexibility to adapt to different client needs and care plans
