Position Summary

The Community Disability Services Worker (CDSW) is a front-line role that supports the development of skills and relationships to help individuals with disabilities work towards and meet their goals. Reporting to the Team Leader, this role upholds human rights, health, safety, and well-being of all people in service and colleagues. The ideal candidate will be passionate about people, detail-oriented, and proactive in fostering a positive workplace.

What You'll Do:

  • Help individuals accessing services with personal development, community involvement, positive behavior supports and/or personal care
  • Collaborate with the team and individuals accessing services through the Human Centered Design Process
  • Support the individuals' desires, goals, and life choices by interacting and advocating with the individual accessing services
  • Demonstrate personable skills for individuals to build relationships with others in programs at Chrysalis
  • Create a trusting and respectful environment where individuals accessing service feel comfortable expressing their needs and goals. Encourage and support their participation in social, educational, and recreational activities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of those you support and their progress, incidents, and service delivery ensuring compliance and relevant regulations and standards at Chrysalis

What We Need From You:

  • 6+ months of relevant work experience working with disabilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Clear Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Search
