The Villa by Nerval is a premier luxury event venue in Edmonton, known for hosting elegant weddings, corporate events, gala dinners, and curated brunch experiences. We are seeking a creative, reliable, and detail-oriented Social Media Content Creator to help capture and showcase the magic of our events in real time.

Role Overview

This role is ideal for a hands-on content creator who enjoys being on-site, capturing behind-the-scenes moments, and producing engaging short-form content for Instagram and Facebook. Availability on Fridays and Saturdays is essential, as most events take place on weekends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capture in-house photo and video content during events (decor, food, ambiance, behind-the-scenes, guest moments)
  • Create Instagram Reels, Stories, and Posts; Facebook posts and event highlights
  • Edit short-form video content (mobile or basic desktop editing)
  • Assist with posting content in real time or within 24–48 hours post-event
  • Maintain a consistent visual and brand tone aligned with The Villa's luxury image
  • Collaborate with the management team on content ideas and event themes
  • Tag vendors, entertainers, and partners where applicable to increase reach

Availability Requirements

  • Part-time / freelance role
  • Must be available Fridays & Saturdays (evenings required)
  • Occasional Sundays for brunch or special events (optional)

Ideal Candidate

  • Experience creating content for Instagram & Facebook (hospitality, events, or lifestyle preferred)
  • Strong eye for aesthetics, lighting, and storytelling
  • Comfortable working in live event environments
  • Able to work independently and meet quick turnaround times
  • Familiar with basic editing tools (CapCut, InShot, Adobe Premiere Rush, Canva, etc.)
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional on-site

Compensation

  • Competitive hourly rate or per-event compensation (based on experience)
