Mikisew Group Limited Partnership, a Mikisew Group company, is currently seeking a qualified candidate to join our team as a Manager, Procurement and Sakaw Adventures.
The Manager, Procurement & Sakaw Adventures is responsible for the strategic procurement, asset management, and day-to-day operations of Sakaw Adventures (Mikisew Group's remote lodge and tourism division).
Key Responsibilities:
- Sakaw Adventures Operations
- Oversee the seasonal operations of Sakaw Adventures lodges, including staffing, logistics, guest services, and maintenance.
- Develop and execute annual operational plans and budgets for all lodges, aligned with Mikisew Group's corporate objectives.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and hospitality standards.
- Coordinate capital projects, refurbishments, and remote logistics (including aviation, fuel, and supply chain planning).
- Maintain relationships with tourism partners, suppliers, and Indigenous communities to strengthen Sakaw's market presence.
- Track performance metrics, including occupancy, guest satisfaction, and profitability.
- Procurement & Supply Chain Management
- Develop and implement group-wide procurement policies and standardized processes.
- Lead competitive bids, RFPs, and vendor negotiations to achieve cost savings and ensure transparent procurement practices.
- Manage preferred vendor relationships and ensure compliance with Mikisew's procurement and Indigenous sourcing policies.
- Support all business units in procurement planning, material forecasting, and inventory control.
- Drive internal value by leveraging consolidated spend opportunities across Mikisew's Joint Venture (JV) partnerships — analyzing collective purchasing volumes, negotiating group rates, and coordinating internal purchasing to capture JV spend within Mikisew's supply chain.
- Asset & Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate records of tools, vehicles, and capital assets through centralized systems (e.g., ToolHound, fleet databases).
- Oversee lifecycle planning, maintenance, and redeployment of company-owned equipment and lodge infrastructure.
Conduct annual asset audits and ensure compliance with financial reporting and insurance requirements.
- Support development of long-term capital asset renewal strategies.
- Digitalization & Subscription Oversight
- Manage all corporate subscriptions, software platforms, and digital systems.
- Support the implementation, training, and analysis of digital tools that improve operational efficiency (e.g., GoCanvas, Asana, Inspectall and procurement systems).
- Identify and evaluate digital transformation opportunities, including workflow automation and system integration.
- Collaborate with Functions to ensure optimal use of technology across business units.
- Leadership & Collaboration
Supervise direct and seasonal staff within both procurement and lodge operations.
- Collaborate closely with Operations Managers across Mikisew Group to ensure alignment of procurement and logistics strategies.
- Lead by example in demonstrating Mikisew's core values: Integrity, Innovation, Results Matter, and We Care.
Skills and Abilities:
- 5–8 years of progressive experience in procurement, operations, or multi-site management (industrial, tourism, or logistics sectors).
- Experience driving digital transformation initiatives or managing subscription-based systems.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills with a balance of strategic and hands-on management.
- Proficiency in procurement and asset management systems (e.g., ToolHound, Sage, Asana, or ERP platforms).
- Ability to travel to remote lodge locations during operational season (typically May–September).
Education:
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field, preferred.
