Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting freight to various destinations while ensuring timely deliveries. This role requires a strong focus on safety, vehicle maintenance, and efficient route management. Candidates with skills in forklift operation, heavy equipment handling, and automotive repair are highly valued to support overall operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks to transport freight over designated routes
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed
- Ensure all freight is secured properly before transit to prevent damage or accidents
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and perform basic maintenance or repairs when necessary
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in accordance with company policies
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company procedures during transportation
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and warehouse personnel regarding delivery schedules and issues
- Assist with warehouse operations including loading, unloading, and inventory management when required
Skills
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record
- Experience operating freight trucks and heavy equipment such as forklifts
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely and efficiently
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to freight transportation and heavy equipment operation
- Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines
- Physical ability to lift, load, and unload freight as needed
- Good communication skills for coordination with team members and dispatchers
