Parts & Service Advisor

Do you have two or more years' experience with Heavy Duty Trailer parts? Do you love working in a professional setting, and providing outstanding customer service? This could be the role for you The successful candidate will provide service to technicians requiring parts, while ensuring quality inventory control. He or she will maintain inventory levels, and provide occasional external parts sales to select customers. He or she will also provide limited service coverage during evening hours.

· Hours:

· Monday –Thursday 1:30 PM – 12:00 AM Monday to Thursday with rotating Saturdays

· 44 Hours per week

Responsibilities:

· Provides requested parts to Technicians and makes suggestions on additional parts needed for repair

· Posts parts on Karmak computer business system

· Processes cores and warranty parts for credit by: receiving tagged parts from Technicians, matching tags, inspecting parts, and placing in designated area in warehouse

· Stocks shelves and reports to Parts Manager on stock levels.

· Participates in annual parts inventories, clean-up, and preparation work

· Seeks technical information regarding new & current products

· Orders merchandise within established limits

· Prepare, submit and monitor warranty claims to various suppliers.

· Review warranty repair orders to ensure complete and accurate information.

· Submit warranty claims, review for discrepancies and investigate variances.

· During evening hours only: intake external service customer requests, which includes creating work orders, aiding with service customer inquiries, collecting customer and vehicle information, recording customer complaints, and communicating with customers on repair schedules, cost estimates, etc…

· Open, Close and Invoice Work Orders

· Sell Parts over the Counter during the evening shift

Ideal qualifications:

Education & Experience:

· 2 or more years of heavy-duty trailer parts experience to ensure the ability to identify parts and work independently

· Experience in trailer/truck (or related) industry (in order to understand repair time length and how to manage work orders) would be an asset but is not required

· Front line customer service experience

· Prior parts sourcing or purchasing of products preferred

· Technical product knowledge is preferred

Skills:

· Strong internal and external customer service focus & ability to build relationships

· Ability to learn in-house billing system

· Strong numbers orientation, attention to detail

· Organized, sets priorities, meets deadlines

· Able to lift 50 pounds without assistance

· A team player that takes initiative and proves a good work ethic

· Possess strong listening, problem solving and decision making skills

· Basic computer experience: MS Word, Internet, email, keyboarding, data entry
