SLCS is currently seeking a Full-time Residential Case Worker for an 18-month contract at Gallagher Centre, supporting adults who are involved in the criminal justice system through case management, crisis intervention and discharge planning.

As a Residential Case Worker, you will play a vital role in helping clients reintegrate into the community by assessing their skills and needs, particularly in regards to their mental health and addiction issues, and connecting them to appropriate services.  You will also help to advocate on behalf of your clients with parole officers, clinical supports and the court system to ensure care.  In addition to these elements of the position, you will be responsible for the safety and security of the clients and other staff during your shift.  You will also work collaboratively with other team members to complete administrative functions as needed. 

This role would entail being skilled at working with clients from diverse populations; helping with program development as well as providing education support and supervision to students.  You will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all the applicable and regulatory requirements.  This position is primarily located at Gallagher Centre and would work on a set 4 week rotation between the hours of 8am - 10pm.

Required Qualifications

  • University Degree or 2 - 3-year College Diploma from an accredited institution
  • Standard First Aid /CPR with AED – Level C
  • Valid G2 or G Class Driver's License
  • Candidates who are proficient in both official languages of Canada will be considered an asset
