Summary

The Hydraulic Cylinder Technician is responsible for the safe and accurate disassembly, inspection, reassembly and testing of hydraulic cylinders used in industrial, mobile and heavy equipment applications. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail and adherence to quality and safety standards to ensure hydraulic components meet operational specification and performance requirements.

Job Duties

· Disassemble hydraulic cylinders using proper tools and procedures

· Inspect cylinder components (barrels, rods, pistons, seals, glands) for wear, damage or defects

· Clean, measure and evaluate parts to determine repair or replacement requirements

· Replace seals, bearings, wear bands and other components per specifications

· Reassemble hydraulic cylinders to manufacturer and customer specifications

· Perform pressure and functional testing to verify proper operation and leak-free performance

· Read and interpret work orders, hydraulic schematics and technical drawings

· Maintain accurate documentation of repairs, parts used and test results

· Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area

· Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production and turnaround timeliness

· Identify potential process improvements and report equipment or tooling issues

Requirements

· High school diploma or equivalent, technical training preferred

· Previous shop environment experience or other industrial maintenance experience

· Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on tool experience

· Knowledge of hydraulic systems and components, preferred

· Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and bore gauges

· Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints and other specifications

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without assistance

· Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work with hands for extended periods

· Comfortable working in a shop environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
