Specialist, Procurement

Cameco has a great opportunity available for an enthusiastic, motivated professional to be a part of a diverse procurement team. You will be responsible for supporting all of Cameco's Canadian operations on a permanent full-time basis.
In this role, you will:
- Source a range of materials, equipment and services and interact closely with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to value creation from procurement activities, act as a service provider to our partners at our Canadian operations, as well as participate in the continuous improvement of our processes and procedures.
- Source best overall value to meet internal customer needs, generate and expedite purchase orders in an SAP environment, develop and execute contracts and manage vendor on-time delivery.
- Conduct request for quotations (RFQ) and request for proposals (RFP) as needed.
- Identify and resolve blocked invoices to ensure efficiency in the procure-to-pay process.
- Assist in onboarding new suppliers and maintaining supplier databases.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, procurement policies and regulatory requirements.
- Identify process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
Required:
- bachelor's degree in business, commerce, or a related field;
- three to five years of experience in the supply chain management/procurement field;
- equivalent combination of education and work experience considered; and
- excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.
Recommended:
- previous SAP experience;
- previous procurement experience at an industrial or mining environment; and
- previous procurement experience in electricals and mechanicals.
