Senior Performance Test Specialist

PLATO has offices on or near Indigenous communities across Canada, in Fredericton, Sault Ste Marie, Ottawa/Gatineau, Regina, Prince Albert, Calgary, and Vancouver.

We are seeking a skilled Senior Performance Test Specialist to join our team. This role involves designing and implementing performance testing plans, configuring performance testing tools and environments, and collaborating with clients to deliver high-quality testing solutions.

• Designing, creating and conducting large scale performance tests with tools such as LoadRunner, JMeter, and NeoLoad
• Participating in the testing and optimization of software performance, working as a consultant to support teams consisting of IT architects, infrastructure system admins, development and service center staff to ensure that IT systems deliver a reliable application
• Work closely with project stakeholders to identify and define performance thresholds and SLAs
• Supporting delivery through the creation, maintenance, and execution of performance test plans
• Assist with the detailed analysis and interpretation of results to help identify and isolate issues and propose solutions
• Build knowledge of industry leading tools and practices in the area of performance testing and disseminate knowledge through mentorship and training
• Proactively resolving complex technical issues and demonstrating innovative thinking by regularly making recommendations for new approaches to technical work and broader issues resolution through continual quality assurance and produce system environment monitoring, troubleshooting, tuning and capacity planning

• Computer Science Degree or equivalent
• 7+ years' of hands on performance testing experience
• Demonstrated experience designing, creating and conducting large scale performance tests with industry standard tools such as LoadRunner. May require the usage of other industry standard tools.
• Experience building performance automation solutions with other tools such as JMeter, LoadUI, NeoLoad, etc. would be an asset
• Test automation experience would be considered an asset
• You are flexible and self-motivated, as you will be balancing various priorities and have full responsibility for ensuring delivery of services from kickoff to completion
• You are always interested in learning new tools, technologies and processes to keep up with our clients' continuously evolving needs.
• Experience with run-time analysis and code optimization considered an asset.
• Highly effective communicator in both oral and written forms, e.g. can lead discussions, in person, over the phone, or digitally; with clients and clearly convey your message with an appropriate tone with the ability to design and write effective technical documents
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform detailed analysis and interpretation of results to help identify and isolate performance related issues
