Horry-Georgetown Technical College is a vibrant, two-year public institution serving over 9,000 credit students and 2,000 workforce development students across three campuses along South Carolina's beautiful Grand Strand. Library Operations at Horry-Georgetown Technical College is seeking applicants for a Library Specialist. This position provides patron assistance in support of library services at primarily the Conway but also, at times as needed, at the Grand Strand campus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct patron service at the circulation desk, including policy explanation, complaint resolution, problem solving, patron registration, fine collection, and the check-in and out of materials (the library is open Monday – Friday and closed on weekends).
  • Provides basic technical support related to the library's integrated online system. Monitors and reports system problems.
  • Supervises work-study students including assigning duties and monitoring performance.
  • Troubleshoots print management software and hardware and other units using the software. 
  • Assists in the processing of new books and materials.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.


Advertised Salary:

Commensurate with education and experience. 



Minimum Requirements:

Associates degree



Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors degree. Knowledge of integrated library systems not necessary but preferred. Customer service experience.
