This role requires availability to complete after hours and late-night tasks, as required. This includes evening and weekends. You will be required to enter into a rotating on-call queue for supporting the business outside of office hours.

As a Senior Platform Systems Administrator, reporting to the Team Lead Platform Services, you'll effectively collaborate with team members and multiple other teams to coordinate project delivery, build design documents, troubleshoot issues and act as a nearly autonomous resource in the organization. You will demonstrate expert level knowledge in many areas to support and guide Platform Services and the larger organization through key technical projects and milestones.
Capabilities
What You'll be Doing:
- Design, build, automate, test, and document Platform Services solutions.
- Handle multiple demands and competing priorities while ensuring deliverables are met.
- Provide work estimates as inputs into the planning process within streams.
- Triage and mitigate operational issues and participate in reducing and preventing outages.
- Follow the Platform Services standards, processes, procedures and expectations to ensure quality and timeliness of outputs.
Provide expert level technical knowledge in key areas including:
Automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell and Azure Dev Ops
- Windows Servers
- Active Directory
- Linux Servers
- MECM/SCCM
- F5 LTM & F5 Distributed Cloud
- Certificate Lifecycle Management
- IIS
Support and Maintenance
- Maintain solutions owned by the Platform Services team.
- Monitor, automate, perform maintenance, improvements, and upgrades as required.
- Possess exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Communicate potential solutions and information as required in a way that fosters a culture of trust and collaboration.
- Work on development and maintenance of systems, tools, products, documentation, help files, user manuals and guidelines.
Communication & Team Effectiveness
- Foster a culture of team collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Communicate in a timely manner, escalate issues and potential team issues appropriately to the Team Lead of Platform Services.
- Accurately prepare written business correspondence that is coherent, grammatically correct, effective, professional and engaging.
- Promote and support Peer Review of team deliverables, contributing to the development of consistent and effective documentation that adheres to team standards and templates.
- Support resolving Operational issues in a holistic manner and provide permanent resolution to repeating issues in the organization.
- Provide mentoring and support to junior members of the team and providing advice to external teams.
What You Bring
Experience and Education
- 10+ years of experience and considerable skill in working in a Sysadmin role.
- 3+ years of experience in a Senior Systems Admin/Senior Technical role.
- 5+ years of experience working with Windows and Linux servers, complex applications, web technologies, Microsoft Exchange/365, PowerShell, IIS, and Active Directory.
- 4+ years of experience and broad knowledge of deploying and maintaining machines in a virtual environment. Experience ins Nutanix, VMware, Hyper-V etc.
- 3+ years of experience with IP networking, network security firewalls, and load balancing.
- Emerging expertise in AI, LLM and related fields.
- Emerging expertise in Container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or similar.
- Demonstrated ability to lead effectively at a senior level across a breadth of functional areas of the business.
Licenses and Certifications
- Post-secondary education in computer technology or IT related discipline from an accredited institution or a minimum of 10 years of progressing IT experience.
