Job Summary
We are seeking a Maintenance Helper to join our team. Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Helper is responsible for following direction of Supervisors to assist the team in the maintenance shop.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all instruments, tools and work areas are maintained in an appropriate manner.
- Assist in performing mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on all mining equipment.
- Assist technicians in all shop requirements.
- Wash equipment.
- Ensure the shop is clean at all times.
Required Experience And Skill Set
- 1+ years of experience in a mining or industrial setting.
- Prior experience with heavy machinery.
Job Conditions
- Strong commitment to safety.
- Manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Able to read, understand, and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate, and timely manner.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Willing to adapt and work in an inclusive work environment.
- Willing to perform repetitive tasks.
- Job tasks may be physically demanding, lifting to 50 lbs.
- This position is based in Geraldton, Ontario.
Certifications
- Valid driver's license.
- Ontario Surface Common Core training is an asset.
Education
