POSITION OVERVIEW

At Danica, a market leader in Housewares, Giftware and Home Furnishing design, we create vibrant products across five distinct brands that reach customers across North America. Our seasonal photography plays a crucial role in showcasing our collections through our renowned wholesale catalogues, online platforms, and beyond.

As a photo stylist at Danica, you may style an apron with a special neck strap and waist tie, a mug with a unique glaze or a dishtowel with embroidered details. You will be asked to set up large merchandising displays using a plethora of products and props as well as more intimate product vignettes that get up close on key product features. You'd be tasked with showcasing the construction, design, scale, fit and functionality of each product.

Because Danica has five unique brands under its umbrella, each photo is styled according to different brand guidelines. You'll consult the guides to use the right backdrops, environments, props, and model wardrobes for each brand. You would follow art direction notes and mood boards and collaborate with other stylists and staff to coordinate the look and storytelling.

KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Style home décor products for photography, with an eye for composition, detail, and visual storytelling.
• Translate brand guidelines, art direction notes, and mood boards into thoughtfully styled sets and vignettes.
• Quickly learn new products and highlight their construction, scale, fit, functionality, and key design details.
• Source and style props that support the intended mood, season, and brand, and clearly communicate needs with the styling coordinator.
• Adapt to evolving creative direction and solve styling challenges on set as they arise.
• Work both independently and collaboratively with fellow stylists, photographers, and internal teams.
• Support shoots in both our in-office studio and on location.
• Participate in shoots 2–3 days per week, in full-day or half-day blocks.

The Experience of a strong candidate

• Experience styling home décor and/or food photography is preferred.
• Familiarity with is an asset (training provided).
• Emerging stylists are encouraged to apply — we offer hands-on learning and support.
