About the RoleWuxly is seeking a Laser Cutting Machine Operator to support our manufacturing and sample room operations through precise, efficient cutting of textiles and soft goods components. This role is responsible for operating laser cutting equipment, preparing files and materials, and ensuring cut quality meets technical and production requirements.
This position is well-suited to someone who enjoys hands-on manufacturing work, values precision and consistency, and takes pride in supporting high-performance products from prototype through production.
Key ResponsibilitiesLaser Cutting & Machine Operation- Operate laser cutting machines to cut fabrics and soft goods components accurately and efficiently
- Set up jobs, load materials, and adjust machine settings based on material type and cutting requirements
- Monitor cutting processes to ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency
- Perform routine machine checks, cleaning, and basic maintenance
- Load and manage digital cutting files and markers as provided by the technical or production team
- Verify cut files, nesting, and material usage prior to cutting
- Identify and report file or material issues before and during production
- Support both sample and production cutting as required
- Inspect cut components for accuracy, defects, and alignment with specifications
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 procedures and documentation requirements
- Collaborate with design, technical, and production teams to support workflow and timelines
- Responsibilities may flex based on production needs, with team members supporting one another across functions
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or manufacturing training considered an asset
- 1–3 years of experience operating laser cutting equipment or similar CNC machinery preferred
- Experience cutting textiles, technical fabrics, or soft goods is an asset
- Basic computer skills and comfort working with digital files
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Mechanically inclined and comfortable working with machinery
- Organized, reliable, and able to follow technical instructions
