Machine Operator - Slitter (Mississauga)
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the duties outlined below:
- Sort customer orders by priority sequence and fill out from stock and/or according to their requirements
- Ensure that stock inventory level is maintained at all times in order to serve orders within the two-day delivery time frame set for tapes
- Safely operate the rewinder / slitter and rewinding machines
- Diligently follow all safety procedures to load and unload rolls
- Stage roll stock for splitting as per rewinder / slitting schedule
- Ensure rolls produced conform to the required gauge standard
- Accurately record weight and other relevant information for roll stock produced
- Separate and highlight any rolls that are not in conformance with specifications
- Package & store the slit roll as per established standards
- Remove waste material from line when required
- Fill all required tracking forms or traceability documents while on duty
- Perform belting operations - belt fabrication with extreme accuracy and repeatability including Cut-to-Length, Lacing, Finger Splicing and Slitting operations
- Installation of edging, fasteners, and custom accessories utilizing heavy duty industrial grade sewing machines, pneumatic die presses and pneumatic heat presses
- Maintain all work areas free from obstructions and hazards
- Maintain proper housekeeping and 5S in own work area and around work units
- Perform all work in a safe manner and fully comply with the safety rules, quality policies and procedures of the company
- Any other duties as assigned by the Management
Knowledge & Skills Requirement:
- Must be able to read and interpret measuring devices (tape measures, calipers, scales)
- Previous experience in a Machine Operator role in the manufacturing or logistics environment is required.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and material handling procedures.
- Familiarity with 5S methodology and Lean manufacturing principles.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
- This position requires the ability to lift 50 lbs. and to stand for long periods of time
Salary & Conditions:
- Job Location: Ammega Canada Inc., 265 Export Boulevard, Mississauga
- Salary: $21 hourly
- Days of work: Monday to Friday, 40 hours, 6:30 am 3:00 pm
The hiring is open to all applicants able to work 40 hours per week.
