ROLE- Oversee and contribute to mobile engineering teams developing amazing user experiences across iOS and Android platforms
- Serve as an engineering leader and technical expert for native mobile development
- Create plans and processes, and drive execution for the mobile engineering teams
- Hire and mentor a world-class team of engineers, including providing coaching and career guidance
- Advocate for user experience, code quality and architectural design within the company
- Follow projects from inception through implementation to help ensure they are on time and of remarkable quality
- Support initiatives to improve mobile engineering efficiency, quality, and happiness
- Collaborate with product and design teams to ship incredible features and products
- Experience: You have 10+ years of experience contributing to engineering teams, including:
- 5+ years as a hands-on contributor (including a focus on iOS and/or Android engineering)
- 5+ years of managing/leading teams (primarily mobile engineering teams, preferably in a remote environment)
- Technical Skills: You're proficient in native mobile development and can guide architectural decisions with hands-on credibility. You don't need to be an expert in both platforms, but you should be comfortable managing and growing talent across iOS and Android. You stay close enough to the code to guide technical decisions with confidence. We value managers who are technical leaders, not just people leaders.
- AI Enthusiast: You believe AI will revolutionize how we work as well as the experiences that we create for our customers. Driven by passion and curiosity, you leverage AI to dramatically increase your own productivity and the impact of your team.
- Leadership: You have a track record of leading and developing high-performing, inclusive, and mission-driven teams.
- Remarkable Quality: You produce work that is striking, worthy of attention, and a contribution to the state of the art.
- Excellent Communicator: You're able to distill complexity into clear and concise messaging. You're effective across various mediums and are excellent at working in a remote-first environment.
- Start-to-Finish Ownership: You take 100% responsibility for your own outcomes as well as the outcomes of the company.
- Cares Deeply, Communicates Directly: You discuss and debate ideas openly. You focus on the customer and business, and encourage stakeholders to take impactful action.
- Bias to Action: You value speed. You take thoughtful and prompt steps forward, even in the face of uncertainty, recognizing that action is the catalyst for progress and growth.
- Structured Project Manager: You have honed a systematic way of running your projects. You bring structure to your to-do list and know how to break down large tasks into smaller pieces to get things done.
- Inclusive Facilitator: You build a culture of inclusion as your first priority. You advocate for this as a project facilitator, people manager, and teammate, and are comfortable guiding through an inclusive lens.
- Proactive Executor: You anticipate needs, act without waiting for direction, and maintain momentum across multiple initiatives. You balance autonomy with collaboration, ensuring meaningful progress in dynamic, high-impact environments.
- Location: We're open to considering candidates in the US or Canada. We operate in a remote-hybrid model.
