Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing complex accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and supporting various accounting processes. This role offers an opportunity to work with a dynamic team in a professional environment, utilizing advanced accounting software and tools to maintain financial integrity and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  • Perform account reconciliations for bank statements, general ledger accounts, and other financial data.
  • Utilize accounting and tax software such as Caseware, QuickBooks, Sage, TaxCycle, and other platforms to record and maintain accurate financial data.
  • Conduct audits and assist with external audit preparations to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Perform account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist with financial services activities including tax filings, compliance reporting, and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline bookkeeping procedures and improve overall financial operations.

Qualifications

  • Chartered Professional Accountant designation with a minimum of two years of relevant experience
  • Proven experience with accounting software such as Caseware, QuickBooks, Sage, and other relevant platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards, account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account analysis.
  • Experience in corporate finance functions including auditing, taxes, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial data management.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial information and communicate findings effectively.
  • Familiarity with financial services regulations and compliance standards is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
