  • Work closely with network program personnel and others in the planning and execution of coverage of significant national events, either for national information programs or specials.
  • Recognize issues of significance and take immediate and effective action to ensure an appropriate level of coverage.

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

Qualifications:

  • University degree or equivalent
  • Five (5) or more years' reporting experience

Professional competencies:

  • Superior French-language skills
  • Advanced oral and reading proficiency and intermediate writing proficiency in English

  • Strong writing and storytelling skills on TV, radio and digital platforms
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of CBC/Radio-Canada's Journalistic Standards and Practices

Behavioral skills:

  • Ability to be self-motivated and work independently
  • Ability to work effectively with reporters, producers and technicians in Toronto and Montreal
  • Ability to take initiative to generate original, relevant story ideas for Le téléjournal and digital platforms
  • Capable of original, creative thought in producing stories
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure
  • Organizational and time management skills in order to meet production requirements

Other important criteria:

  • Availability to work early-morning, evening and weekend shifts as needed
  • Ability and willingness to travel outside Ontario on short notice
  • Valid passport and driver's licence, as well as a driving record that meets the criteria of CBC/Radio-Canada's insurer
