Signature Supplements Inc. is currently seeking a Director of Business Development to lead our Customer Service team and Marketing initiatives. Responsibilities:
People Experience
- Champion leadership development and workforce planning priorities by assessing, selecting, retaining, and developing diverse, high-caliber talent that can lead the organization today and strengthen the leadership bench for the future.
- Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to customer service and marketing teams.
- Develop and implement robust training programs, ensuring SOP competency, rigorous sign-off procedures, and efficiently managing training metrics and incorporating team KPIs.
- Manage the Performance Management Program, tracking 30/60/90 milestones for performance alignment, tracking, and coaching on team KPIs, conducting thorough annual reviews, and proactively implementing Performance Improvement Plans.
- Collaborate with HR to align recruitment strategies with the overarching workforce plan, anticipate future talent needs and labor budgets, while also overseeing team scheduling and attendance tracking.
- Sets goals and expectations for teams, aligning performance, and address performance issues to hold teams accountable for successful results.
- Ensure all day-to-day operations are managed by team scheduling and approving department time-off.
Customer Experience & Growth
- Write and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training programs and lead new hires and team members through new process implementation.
- Lead team and organize regular training sessions to efficiently communicate procedure changes, reporting, and business updates.
- Develop and implement strategies for new business opportunities including account acquisition that align with marketing strategies
- Development and implementation of a Customer Assurance Program that includes agreements for ordering policies, customer commitments, and an effective loyalty program.
- Improve and monitor department reporting to understand accounts, team, and business performance, as well as setting targets and goals.
- Meticulously track and report on customer complaints to ensure the maintenance of the highest quality standards and participate in corrective action initiatives.
- Collaborate to develop and implement a commitment to best practice service standards to better serve customers.
Marketing & Continuous Improvement
- Plan annual marketing initiatives including trade shows, sponsorship programs, advertising campaigns, and socials working within assigned budgets
- Identify new business opportunities including customer audiences and product offerings
- Contribute to the preparation of annual product development approach and launch strategic planning
- Strategic planning of new product and raw material launch with customer communication, tracking trends and sales with reporting on product launch success
- Work with the Leadership team on process improvement initiatives and effective strategies to enhance overall team and business operations
- Prepare and execute marketing materials and campaigns with ROI reporting
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends for annual planning
- Ensure brand integrity is upheld for both internal and external marketing initiatives
- Execute Kaizens for continuous improvement, strategically plan and implement system improvements, drive innovation in marketing campaigns.
Requirements/Attributes:
- 7+ years of experience in marketing and sales; 2+ years of experience in a leadership role
- Experience in holistic health, natural health products, pharmaceuticals, food services, or related industries.
- Excellent collaboration, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills and the ability to work accurately and meet deadlines with frequent interruptions.
- Proven track record in building high performance teams, leading cross-functionally, developing and retaining employees, and driving organizational goals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential for fostering a positive and collaborative team culture.
- Demonstrated ability to make decisions with good judgment, identifying trends and maximizing operational efficiencies.
- Quick response capability and effective communication skills across all levels of the company, as well as with customers and suppliers.
