Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Hydrovac Operator to join our construction and excavation team. The ideal candidate will operate hydrovac trucks and various heavy equipment to perform excavation, potholing, and utility locating tasks safely and efficiently. This role requires mechanical aptitude, experience with heavy machinery, and a strong commitment to safety standards. The Hydrovac Operator will play a vital role in supporting construction projects by providing precise excavation services in challenging environments.

Duties

  • Operate hydrovac trucks for excavation, potholing, and utility locating with precision and safety.
  • Manage and coordinate the use of heavy equipment including dozers, excavators, loaders, backhoes, graders, and pavers as needed for site preparation and project completion.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment such as Caterpillar machinery to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of work zones, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues promptly.
  • Support construction activities by operating horizontal drilling equipment and other specialized machinery.
  • Perform commercial driving duties to transport equipment or materials between sites safely.
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time while maintaining high safety standards.

Experience

  • Proven experience operating hydrovac trucks in a construction or utility environment.
  • Familiarity with heavy equipment operation including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and pavers.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to heavy machinery maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with horizontal drilling and other specialized construction techniques is preferred.
  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) is highly desirable.
  • Prior work in construction or related fields involving heavy equipment such as Caterpillar machinery is advantageous. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong mechanical skills and experience operating heavy machinery in a dynamic construction environment. Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $24.68-$40.25 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
