Job Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Hydrovac Driver/Operator located in Port Perry, ON. The Hydrovac Driver/Operator will be responsible for the safe operation of Hydrovac trucks to perform excavation and clean-up services. Daily tasks include operating heavy equipment, maintaining equipment to ensure safety and functionality, adhering to safety protocols, and effectively communicating with team members and clients. The role requires a strong focus on safety and professional delivery of services to meet client needs.
Responsibilities
- Operate hydrovac trucks and equipment for safe excavation of underground utilities.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of equipment to ensure operational safety.
- Collaborate with crew members to plan excavation projects and ensure efficient workflow.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including job site conditions and any issues encountered.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment, identifying mechanical issues as they arise.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while on the job site.
- Assist in training new operators on equipment operation and safety practices.
Qualifications
- DZ or AZ licence registered as Manuel
- Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to effectively interact with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
- At minimum 2 years of experience operating and maintaining Hydrovac trucks or similar machinery.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
- A commitment to workplace safety and adherence to company protocols and regulations.
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting abilities are beneficial.
