Job Purpose

The Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on site. They ensure the proper functioning of equipment, address maintenance requests, and contribute to creating a safe and well-maintained environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the surveying of buildings and equipment to ensure they maintain proper health and safety standards;
  • Conduct repairs on the company or building's equipment such as heating and cooling systems, plumbing systems, or electrical systems;
  • Perform general aesthetic upkeep which can include painting, basic carpentry, or landscaping;
  • Performing preventative and corrective maintenance of welders and equipment
  • Troubleshooting equipment to diagnose deficiencies and determine repairs required
  • Repairing or replacing defective parts
  • Cleaning, lubricating, adjusting, and performing other maintenance work on welders and equipment
  • Using vendor resources, equipment manuals, and other resources to problem-solve and diagnose repairs;
  • Handle pest control issues by spraying insecticide or calling and coordinating with the appropriate professionals;
  • Help with development budgets for the upkeep of equipment and property structures;
  • Maintain and carry out a calendar of monthly and annual equipment checkups or repairs;
  • Ability to solve basic problems that may arise on the job;
  • Ability to respond to emergencies in a timely manner and be able to prioritize important work;
  • Ability to communicate any issues or problems to upper management while also being able to work with other staff members to get a particular job completed;
  • Ability to organize calendars and appointments in relation to regular required maintenance;
  • Ability to work in various different areas of the building and perform many different functions to keep the building in good standing;
  • Displays a commitment to Academy's safety program, values, and culture.

Qualifications/Skills

  • Knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and plumbing systems in day to day tasks for the job
  • Experience with electronics
  • Experience trouble shooting and repairing welding machines and equipment
  • Experience repairing Miller & Lincoln products
  • Strong understanding of tools used in building and equipment maintenance
  • Preferred candidate will hold an apprenticeship or journeyperson ticket in one of the following trades; electrician, carpenter, mechanic, welder.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50lbs and should be in overall good physical health
  • Ability to multitask and juggle a variety of appointments and requests at one time
  • Positive, outgoing, motivated and hardworking
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
