Full job description

At our centre, the Early Childhood Educator / Infant–Toddler (ECE/IT) will create a warm, inclusive, Reggio-inspired learning environment for children 0–3 years old. You will plan and implement play-based experiences that support all areas of development—social-emotional, physical, cognitive, language, and creative—while following our centre's philosophy and BC's Early Learning Framework. Daily responsibilities include observing children's interests, documenting their learning, setting up engaging indoor and outdoor activities, maintaining a safe and hygienic space, and building strong, respectful relationships with children and families.

This role also includes collaborating closely with the childcare team to design curriculum, share reflections, and support smooth daily routines such as transitions, meals, rest time, and free play. You will communicate regularly with families about their child's day, progress, and needs, using simple documentation, photos, and brief updates. The ideal candidate holds a valid ECE/IT certificate (or is in the process of obtaining it), current First Aid, clear criminal record check, and brings a warm, patient, and responsive approach to working with infants and toddlers.

Preferably having working experience in Reggio-inspired programs and 3+ years of working experience in ECE field.

Hours

Centre opens from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Your work schedule will vary within these hours, with notice provided.

Wage

$22 - $23 per hour, depending on education and experience. Additionally, qualified teachers will receive an extra $6 per hour in accordance with BC Wage Enhancement Regulations.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience required.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal skills with proficiency in both oral and written communication in English.
