Everyone watches women's sports.
Not everyone gets to build them.
Working at the Northern Super League means building a professional sports league from the ground up—an opportunity few people in sport get to experience.
Backed by founders with bold vision and deep conviction for the future of women's sports, the NSL is an entrepreneurial environment where you can have purpose, autonomy, and an outsized impact.
Add to that a remote-first organization with talented teammates across Canada and maybe this is the opportunity you've been waiting for.
The League
The Northern Super League is Canada's first professional women's soccer league, dedicated to growing the sport and engaging passionate fans nationwide.
In our inaugural season, we ranked among the top five women's soccer leagues in global attendance, welcoming over 300,000 fans to stadiums, reaching more than four million Canadians through broadcasts, welcoming back over 100 Canadians to play professionally right here at home, and seeing more than 25 players called up to their national teams.
As we enter season two, we're seeking a purpose-driven Manager, Partnerships to elevate our partner programs and drive the next phase of our growth.
The Role
From before the first whistle, the NSL has been proud to name among its supporters some of Canada's most cherished brands. Partners like Canadian Tire, DoorDash, and Toyota who are committed to advancing women's sport in Canada, and inclusion for all.
Your role as Manager, Partnerships will be to account manage and support the league's growing portfolio of brand partners. You'll be essential to advancing the NSL's commercial objectives and elevating partner programs, through delivery of partner activations, campaigns, and strategic initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Account Management: Oversee day-to-day management of a portfolio of existing partnerships, ensuring contractual deliverables are met and partners are highly satisfied with their involvement. Develop a deep understanding of each partner's business, objectives, and competitive environment.
- Campaign Activation & Creative Solutions: Collaborate with internal teams, Clubs, agencies, and external partners to execute innovative and integrated partnership marketing campaigns that resonate with fans and align with partner objectives.
- Broadcast & Fan Experience Integration: Collaborate with broadcast and game-day teams to ensure partner activations are incorporated seamlessly into coverage and enhance the fan experience. Attend games as needed to manage partner relationships on-site.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Work alongside Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Club teams to maintain alignment and deliver top-tier partnership experiences.
- Strategic Insights & Research: Conduct research and analysis on industry trends, competitive insights, and emerging opportunities to inform partnership strategy and optimization.
- Reporting & Budgets: Track partnership performance, ROI, and engagement metrics. Assist with postseason reporting, partnership renewals, and budget management to strengthen partner relationships.
- Collaboration & Team Support: Foster a collaborative environment within the Partnerships division, sharing insights and supporting colleagues to deliver seamless activations.
Your Qualifications
First and foremost, you're a skilled account manager with exceptional partnership skills. You combine first-rate interpersonal skills with the ability to be proactive, detail-oriented, and solutions-focussed. That means partners trust your advice and support and enjoy working with you. They know they are in safe hands.
Ideally those skills have been honed in partnership development, sponsorship management, or partnership marketing, preferably in the sports or entertainment industry. Experience on the brand or agency side is a strong asset.
Genuine passion for soccer and its ecosystem, including broadcast and fan engagement, will serve you well, as will familiarity with the soccer landscape, broadcast integrations, and media environments.
If on top of this you are French/English bilingual, you'll cut to the front of the recruiting line
The Details
This is a full-time, permanent, remote position (anywhere in Canada) open to anyone who is legally entitled to work in Canada. Typical hours are Monday to Friday regular working hours, with flexibility required around evening and weekend matches. Target compensation is $67,000/year with comprehensive group benefits.
To Apply
The NSL is committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace. We strongly encourage applications from women, Indigenous Peoples (First Nations, Métis, and Inuit), persons with disabilities, members of visible minorities, Francophones, LGBTQ2S+ people, and others from historically underrepresented communities. If you're excited about the role but don't meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply.
If you require any accommodations to participate in the recruitment process, please contact hr @ and we will work with you to support your participation.
