Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely collections. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and excellent customer service abilities to effectively communicate with clients regarding their accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Process accounts receivable transactions and ensure accurate data entry into accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft.
  • Perform account reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records and resolve discrepancies.
  • Conduct analysis of accounts to identify overdue payments and initiate collection efforts.
  • Collaborate with the accounts payable team to ensure smooth financial operations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries related to their accounts and payment status.
  • Utilize negotiation skills to facilitate payment arrangements when necessary.
  • Maintain organized documentation of all transactions and communications for audit purposes.
  • Assist with bookkeeping tasks as needed, including journal entries and financial reporting.

Skills

  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft is essential.
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and accounting practices.
  • Excellent data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong analytical skills for account analysis and reconciliation tasks.
  • Effective negotiation skills to manage payment discussions with clients.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a professional phone etiquette.
  • Solid math skills for accurate financial calculations.
