Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Childcare & Facility Manager to oversee the daily operations of our daycare centre, including early learning programming, staff supervision, and facility management. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who combines educational expertise with operational excellence to ensure the centre runs smoothly and safely every day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Operations Manager and Director to ensure the center's daily success.
  • Provide strong leadership and mentorship to early childhood educators, administrative staff, and support personnel.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate early learning programs that align with best practices and the BC Early Learning Framework.
  • Ensure full compliance with licensing standards, childcare regulations, and internal policies.
  • Supervise facility maintenance and cleaning operations, ensuring a safe, clean, and child-friendly environment.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance and manage relationships with contractors for specialized services or repairs.
  • Oversee the procurement and upkeep of supplies, furnishings, and learning materials.
  • Promote a positive, collaborative environment for children, staff, and families.
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and performance reviews for team members.
  • Provide coaching and professional development opportunities to staff.
  • Manage health, safety, and emergency procedures to maintain a secure facility for all occupants.
  • Keeping up with current government childcare initiatives and evolving program standards.

Qualifications:

  • Early Childhood Education - Infant Toddler Special Needs Diploma (Required); a Bachelor's Degree in Child & Youth Care, Education, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in childcare and 3 years in a management or leadership role.
  • Proven background in facility management or operational supervision.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of childcare licensing regulations and early learning principles in BC.
  • Valid class 4 or 5 BC Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Current First Aid & CPR-C certification.
  • Clear Criminal Record Check.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $30.00-$32.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 30 per week
