Pinchin is seeking a Laboratory Analyst to join our Asbestos Lab team in Mississauga, ON. Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, this is a backfill opportunity for a well-established position, ready for you to make an immediate impact.

Role Overview

In this position, you'll play a vital role in delivering accurate laboratory analysis that supports safer environments and healthier communities. This role is ideal for detail-oriented professionals with strong microscopy skills and a passion for precision. By maintaining the highest standards of quality, you'll contribute to projects that make a real difference while advancing your own expertise and career growth.

Your Role and Action

• Perform analysis of building materials and insulation samples for asbestos content by Polarized Light Microscopy
• Entering data and preparing reports
• Quality control of samples from both internal and external sources

You're motivated by precision and integrity in every test you perform. You value collaboration, learning, and contributing to solutions that protect people and the environment.

• Diploma or university degree in a related discipline
• Strong background in laboratory procedures and/or microscopy
• Ability to differentiate the full spectrum of visible colour
• Knowledge of Polarized Light Microscopy and Optical Mineralogy will be considered as asset
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) will be considered an asset  
• Be detail-oriented, able to develop and maintain a highly organized work environment, and to effectively prioritize tasks
• Ability to work in a busy environment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
