Toronto, Ontario, Canada HighView Partners Full time

We're representing a mission-driven real estate developer that partners with communities to deliver affordable housing across Canada. Backed by a certified B Corp and employee-owned investment platform, this team is redefining how capital drives social impact.

In a time of exciting growth and national expansion, you'll step into a leadership role where your development expertise, financial strategy skills, and construction know-how will directly shape communities and create lasting impact.

Your New Role

As VP Development, you will report to the COO, and will be responsible for leading affordable multi-residential housing projects from conception through completion, reporting directly to senior leadership. You will oversee a team of development professionals, providing guidance and direction while managing projects at various stages—from initial feasibility and financing strategy through municipal approvals, design, and construction, to successful handover.

The role combines strategic and hands-on responsibilities. You will structure financing for complex projects, ensure sound underwriting and compliance with programmatic requirements, and oversee project timelines while liaising with municipalities, community groups, and government stakeholders to secure approvals and funding. You will provide coaching to team members and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth. Externally, you will represent the organization to partners, funders, and industry professionals, cultivating relationships that expand the pipeline of affordable housing projects. Internally, you will support strategic planning, budgeting, and board preparation, while contributing to the integration and growth of the overall platform.

What Sets You Apart

You are an accomplished development professional with more than ten years of progressive real estate development experience, ideally with a focus on affordable housing, multi-residential, or community infrastructure. You have successfully structured financing strategies, overseen project budgets, and navigated municipal approvals and complex development processes. Your experience includes leading teams and coaching high-performing professionals across multiple projects, and you bring a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with a strong ability to problem-solve in diverse contexts.

Equally important, you are deeply committed to equity, inclusion, and social purpose. Your leadership style is defined by diligence, adaptability, and the ability to inspire confidence among colleagues, partners, and stakeholders alike.

What You Can Expect

In return, you will join a collaborative and values-driven team where your work will directly shape the delivery of affordable housing across Canada.

This is a rare opportunity to combine purpose with professional growth, working alongside passionate leaders to create communities that are affordable, sustainable, and inclusive.

Compensation

A competitive market base salary that is commensurate with experience, along with extended health and dental benefits, wellness and phone allowances, and professional development support. You will also be eligible to participate in an employee ownership program, reinforcing the organization's belief in shared ownership and long-term impact.
