Calgary, Alberta, Canada Drumheller Western Full time

Brand: Drumheller

Location: Remote (North America preferred)

Type: Contract to Start → Long-Term Potential

About Drumheller

Drumheller is a modern western apparel brand built for people who work with their hands and live with purpose. Our inspiration comes from classic American workwear, western heritage, and honest craftsmanship—reinterpreted for today.

We're building a tight, intentional product line: tees, woven shirts, outerwear, dresses, hats, and leather goods. Quality, fit, and storytelling matter more than chasing trends.

We're looking for a Product Designer who can help bring this vision to life—from concept to factory-ready tech packs.

The Role

You'll be responsible for designing core apparel pieces and translating them into clear, production-ready tech packs that manufacturers can execute without confusion.

This is a hands-on role. You'll collaborate directly with the founder and help shape Drumheller's product DNA from the ground up.

Responsibilities

  • Design men's and women's western-inspired apparel (woven shirts, tees, outerwear, dresses, accessories)
  • Develop detailed tech packs, including:
  • Construction details
  • Measurements & grading
  • Fabric specs
  • Stitching, trims, labels, and finishes
  • Create sketches, flats, and visual references for sampling
  • Collaborate on fabric selection and material direction
  • Review samples and provide clear revisions and feedback
  • Help establish Drumheller's fit standards and core silhouettes
  • Work with overseas and/or North American manufacturers

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years experience in apparel product design
  • Strong experience creating factory-ready tech packs
  • Understanding of:
  • Woven shirts
  • Workwear or heritage apparel
  • Western or Americana aesthetics (big plus)
  • Comfortable designing for real-world wear, not runway fashion
  • Strong attention to construction details and fit
  • Able to work independently and communicate clearly
  • Experience working directly with manufacturers is a major plus

Bonus Points

  • Experience with western brands, workwear, or heritage labels
  • Knowledge of denim, canvas, twill, or heavyweight knits
  • Familiarity with leather goods or headwear
  • Experience taking products from sketch → sample → production

Tools

  • Adobe Illustrator (required)
  • Photoshop (preferred)
  • Ability to deliver clean, organized tech packs (PDF or AI)

Why This Role Matters

This is not a "make it look cool" role. You'll be helping define the foundation of the brand—fits, silhouettes, and standards that will last for years.

If you like building something from scratch and care deeply about quality and authenticity, you'll love this role.

How to Apply

Please send:

  • A brief intro
  • Your resume
  • Your portfolio (focus on apparel + tech packs)
  • Examples of tech packs you've created (if possible)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00-$34.00 per hour
